is there any more work scheduled on improving Deus Ex performance, apart from an hypothetical ARB_bindless_texture and on-disk shader cache? I made a few tests yesterday on my reference RX480, with the following systems:
Running the in-game benchmark several times in both environments with "higher" presets and maximum textures, I got 35 fps average on Windows at best and 30 fps on Ubuntu. I didn't try playing on Windows though and I may get horrendous slowdowns in large areas (number of people has little impact though) on Ubuntu.
After gaming a while on Ubuntu, I sometimes get checkered light shaft projections - but not always. Has anybody else noticed this?
- Windows 10, DX12, no MSAA, no vsync, exclusive fullscreen. Drivers checked as the latest (not beta).
- Ubuntu 16.04, kernel 4.9.0-040900-generic from the official mainline Ubuntu repository, latest Padoka PPA mesa
