    That's a loss leader mentality. If Microsoft followed that line of thinking, they wouldn't have developed or signed a single exclusive game for the XBOX and no one would have bought one.

      Wat? comparing apples with pineapples.

      They did so at a loss in the hopes of getting another of their products (the XBOX) to get enough popular to get some revenue from that.

      And Microsoft could (and still can) buy the whole Games Workshop, Relic and also THQ several times over.

      I mean, they could afford losing tons of cash to get the XBOX to turn a profit, and the XBOX was THEIR PRODUCT.

      What you are asking is to get hundred-million-dollar-companies to even care about small markets. They have already enough issues to stay afloat in Windows market.

      Sure, making a linux-port-friendly game isn't that hard in theory and they could probably do so for cheap, but to get the leadership to even consider this you need a bit more than "wow it would be cool".
