    I think we were kind of hoping that's what SteamOS would be.

    Of course, we've been hoping for Half-Life 3 for ten years, so we should have known better than that.

    It looks like the future of "Linux gaming" will be relegated to Android.

      It's just a bad feeling I have, that things are not going good and by that I don't mean the plain user statistics.
      Examine it with hindsight: Valve did all the Linux bluster early on to send a signal to Microsoft. Windows is going to be just fine, so Valve has no need to pursue Linux anymore. They never had any interest in it other than protecting the Steam store, which is their cash cow.
