    It's been a while since last having anything to report on Xoreos, but this week they're out with a new release. For those out of the loop, Xoreos is an open-source re-implementation of BioWare's proprietary Aurora Engine. With Xoreos the aim is to make it possible to power Neverwinter Nights and similar games off this GPLv3+ engine while still relying upon the game's assets...

      free unreal engine for free games would solve this "let's rewrite engine X" idiocy.

        Do you expect the coders for the engine reimplementations to turn into artists that do original artwork? They are using the original artwork preciselly because they are no artists.

          And once that's done we can finally reimplement all those games that use the engine and finally have a free game ecosystem -_-
