  • Coin-up style durable game controller advice for linux

I've been playing coin-up games on linux with sdlmame and the keyboard is making those games extremely easy (and less fun) to play. I'm willing to spend 300-500 $ for a coin-up style game controller. Quality is surely a consideration here. What I mean by coin-up controller is something like this: http://www.madcatz.com/products/console/ but with linux support of course. I haven't been able to find anything on the net. Any suggestions?

Not sure if it helps you but I own a USB arcade stick from http://www.ozstick.com.au/
Its a bog standard USB HID game controller and should run on Linux no problems.
Runs quite well and for some games (e.g. Street Fighter) is actually easier to play with than keyboard (doing all the special moves is easier with the joystick than with arrow keys)

Thanks! This helped me to search for the equipment as "arcade machine parts" and I found this: http://www.arcadeworlduk.com/product...box360-pc.html

Looks expensive but durable as I want. Or this:

      With a fairer price.
