      Don't blame AMD. Blame Valve. L4D2 devs took out the gl_finish cvar, which is present in all other games running on Source engine.

      If supported and using 13.11 Beta V6, gl_finish 1 seems to cause performance loss (gl_finish 1 was used to fix latency issues before this latest beta driver in Source games). L4D2 is the only Source game that doesn't have this cvar anymore, hence the performance loss.

        I do not know what they did, to this game but that would explain why my other Valve games work well.
