Phoronix: A Popular Open-Source Game Still Years From Beta

There's an interesting and very promising open-source first person shooter game that does offer impressive graphics but is still a couple years from reaching a beta state...

This is Tremulous with few updates, hardly new at all.

uhm what? Have you ever played Quake 1? Or even saw it? Even Quake 3 Arena looks worse than Unvanquished.

Did you even play Unvanquished? I don't think so. You didn't even look at screenshots or models.

With a little luck this game will see release just about the time it's graphics begins to look horribly dated.

Typical un-news article about irrelevant product X not hitting milestone Y, but making it sound like it matters.

Stop focusing so much on adding SSAO and global illumination and god knows what else and focus on having cool maps and objects.
    Agreed.
Also, something I miss so much in every FOSS game: exterior maps.
