Phoronix: LGP Has Been Down For A Month And A Half

This summer on Phoronix there was an article entitled Is LGP Going The Way Of Loki Software? The situation of Linux Game Publishing was looked at where this company over nearly a decade has ported around two dozen games to Linux, but as of late there's been little activity. In fact, for the past month and a half they haven't even been online due to a complete failure of their only server...

    update

    There's an update on linuxgamepublishing.com:

"As of Nov 23rd, we have a few more unforseen issues in bringing all of the sites back online, but we are working through these as quickly as possible. Some sites are back online, such as penguinplay, and you can also expect happypenguin.org to be back pretty soon. The LGP keyserver is back online, for those who rented LGP games and have been unable to play the rental versions. We have extended the rental periods for anyone affected."

That's what I did for every game (including deleting ~/.lpg/) and it worked without any problems.

    Same here.
Both X2 and X3 seem to be working just fine.

    *cough*

Didn't LGP implement DRM because no one was buying their games? I notice that some warez dude has offered to strip it from their games already.

watch on 'Bohemia interaktiv' they do not have an DRM system and they still sell games.

my only problem on arma1/2 is thats there is no linux version and its imposible to run this game in wine.

on the good old 'Bohemia interaktiv' days you can play online with an invalid cd serial for exampel if you do an lan party team playing online and you only have 1 serial... no problem in ofp-resistance.

    just stop fighting your customers!
