Phoronix: Box64 v0.3.2 Emulator Adds Box32 Option, Introduces Native Flags & More

Box64 v0.3.2 is out today as the newest feature release to this Linux user-space emulator for allowing x86_64 binaries to run on ARM64 (AArch64) Linux devices. Box64 is one of the leading ways for allowing x86_64 games and Steam to be able to run on ARM 64-bit Linux devices...

This text really needs to be updated. It runs them on RISC-V.

Historically, the focus used to be ARM, of course.

That's a great/essential move. Modern processors are all 64Bit, and they need to run both 64/32bit programs.

This project is the Zink of CPUs, and thanks to it, we will be able to move away from x86 painlessly.

Somehow, I never noticed who was writing it. The OpenPandora community really did gather some very impressive people. (I first became aware of ptitSeb for gl4es.)

FEX does not support RISC-V, the industry standard ISA. They are focused on ARM, and thus isn't a very interesting project.

RISC-V is not a standard ISA. ARM are a standard ISA for desktops, servers and IoT platforms.

RISC-V is a WIP ISA and doesn’t has some alternatives to ARM specific extensions for while, some extensions
continues to being developed by risc-v community partners and contributors. In future RV can be a standard.

DBT projects to ARM's ISA is very important for while for multiples newest Qualcoom SoCs for laptops and too for apple silicon.

Looking at the GitHub project description: "Box64 - Linux Userspace x86_64 Emulator with a twist, targeted at ARM64 Linux devices"

I'd suggest that you stop pushing some personal agenda at the expense of facts.

box64 has found a, maybe not a focus, but a LOT of work is being put into riscv https://box86.org/blog/ https://github.com/ptitSeb/box64/com...c/dynarec/rv64

It's neither wrong nor a personal agenda, it's objective fact that it runs on riscv
