HoloISO doesn't support it, but SteamFork does.

Its full screen mode would cause issues like white screen and game not starting properly, especially if you wanted non-native resolution. At some point Proton added some workaround using Wine's virtual desktop, which could be observed as brief view of blue window (default solid color wallpaper).

microsoft did gave up on DXIL ("DirectX Intermediate Language") and now shader version 7 goes with SPIR-V only.

Microsoft setzt mit DirectX zukünftig vermehrt auf offene Standards und in einem ersten Schritt auf die Implementierung von SPIR-V als Austauschformat.

All I want for christmas is a Framework/Purism handheld with AM5 socket, DDR5 CAMM2 and openSIL firmware.

Oh and GTA 5 Online to be functional again would be swell too.

Folks, don't forget to go review bomb GTA V for not enabling Linux in their new anti-cheat

Oh actually you're right. I just checked a VoD from when I played it. You get a white screen if you launched it in full screen. The workaround was to use the KDE Menu (for me, obv use whatever tool your DE has) to get out of full screen, which would make the game display windowed mode normally, and then once in game you can go back into full screen and it would work properly. I had completely forgotten that it did this.

Does everyone who hasn't been waiting 3 decades for Wine/Proton understand how big of a deal this all is?

Valve is my hero for Proton.
