Exactly as interesting as the large increase last month which caused the drop in Linux market share in the first place.

Chinese tried out Steam, correctly found out its crap, stopped using it just like anyone not eating toilet cakes for breakfast?

Steam is simply a bad distribution system no matter if for Linux or not.
That people begin to reject them after all promises are broken is no wonder.

What promises? And what have people started to use instead, according to you?

That Linux will become the future of gaming.
They started with a lot of energy showing everyone that they are serious about this plan.
But the time is already over for AAA native Linux ports.
Even their own tools to modify Dota 2 never saw a native Linux version.
And after all we had a lot of promises from devs who tell us that the native Linux ports for titles like Darksiders or Giana Sisters is already finished.
They also forgot about this: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/wiki/Unreleased_Ports

GoG has a nice model -> DRM free software.
Drilling into the kernel to put more DRM software to Linux is sick!
We should create some Linux exclusives that using the full native potential of our Linux system.

Here is an unpopular opinion, EVEN if all the games work flawlessly on Linux, the percentage is not going to change much. Maybe 1% to 2%? That would be on the optimistic side.

Well at least you would have Linux users who use Linux because now the matured Linux user use Windows to get something you can call a flawless gaming experience.
(By the way gaming is the only task I am using Windows since 2006 for everything else I am using Linux .. ok thats not 100% true -> if it comes to creating music I like to use IOS / OSX)

One further thing that could contribute to people going back to Windows systems for gaming is issues with Proton 5.13 onwards. A lot of issues with their new "Soldier" Linux Runtime combined with these issues, in fact. Steam Play has hit some really bad regressions.

While it's true that virtually all Chinese are back to normal life lately, IMO it's more like the initial Cyberpunk 2077 fad has passed...

Chinese are about to have their New Year celebrations.

Michael, pretty sure you meant 'whittle' in your article, as 'widdle' is to urinate.
