      Well, that is unexpected. But instead on congratulating EA (not in this life), I like to say kudos to all opensource enthusiasts behind enemy lines at EA, in making this happen.

          That's cool although I thought OpenRA was already pretty complete. Maybe this will make the AI better as that's always hard to implement well and it's practically impossible to replicate the original without the code. The game assets are treated as freely redistributable by OpenRA as they were officially available as a free download for a while but I guess that's not the same as open source. I need to update Gentoo's OpenRA package but it's written in C# and our msbuild is too old to build the latest version.

                Hell must be freezing over, EA of all gaming companies are releasing things as open source? I am stunned!
                EA is the most backward of all gaming companies. I am surprised! I did not see this one coming!

                    For you Rust zealots: no it's not written in Rust but only a small part, though it won't be open sourced anyway for legal reasons, so don't hold your breath.
