Weeee arrived in the post this morning
installs just fine (made a /opt/LGP folder to put the updater, uninstaller, X3 into)
      Runs just fine \o/

and the "DRM" isn't obtrusive. Once you have kicked off the installer it asks for the product key, email, passwd and that is. You don't get bugged, you don't even know its there

updater doesn't work - that may be just because there is nothing to be update atm but hey gotta play

The updater thing looks like it's because no one has put up the text file online yet, when an update comes out it'll be fine.

That's right. There is actually no 'x3' directory yet.

Did you play the Windows version at all? How is the performance over all? I ask this because I did not buy X3 yet due to the poor performance of X2: The threat.

Looks like the big announcement was not a game, rather a new Linux multi-player website.

It's possible this is the big news, but from what I understood, there are still other news items they'll be posting. I'll find out on IRC later if this is the big news they speak of.

Either way, it's pretty neat to have online scoring for their multiplayer games.

Great! I was never able to play ballistics multiplayer because it doesn't have a server browser and I was too lazy to look up IP addresses. This is nice
