      Proton is 3.7 while Wine Staging is at 3.14.... Proton does have some custom fixes but I think, it works but has some issues still. I hope they don't do wine3.8 and just jump to 3.14 sometime soon in the future.

        The amount of attention Wine in general is receiving lately is outstanding. If only this explosion of game compatibility had occurred a few year ago, maybe the Windows 10 crap wouldn't have been forced on users due to fear of losing customers!
        One can always hope.

          Maybe this "explosion of game compatibility" is occurring because of the Windows 10 crap that has been shunted onto users. Windows 10 has probably pushed a lot of gamers away from the platform. Businesses are often aware of this kind of movement of their customers. Many businesses are probably investing in GNU/Linux now because they know that people are moving there. It's a growing market.
