is there a way to firewall dbus? with a network firewall and filesystem permissions you can isolate a single process/user from the rest of the system: with dbus it will be ever possible to do? or it will be another security mess?

Policies is a built-in mechanism in dbus implementations, so maybe you can just google it instead of instantly whining about something you obviously know nothing about? It's not like dbus is something new..... and it's not like it just happened as an afterthought. It was carefully designed to replace the different crap that was used before it. There's a reason everyone replaced their custom stuff with dbus. This kind of streamlining isn't very common among open source projects, so whenever it happens you should take that as a sign that something must have been done really right when it happens.

wow, do you have a link? searching dbus firewall returns nothing
searching in the documentation about these policies, I found something but no examples: how you will stop a single pid to connect to dbus?

          thanks!
