Coincidentally Kdenlive just today also released an alpha with the refactoring and updated qml timeline changes: https://kdenlive.org/2017/09/randa-news-release-update/

A more robust V4L would be nice.

Or just use Natron 2 and not bother with this project that really grows at the pace of a glacier.

It's been several years ago that I last tried Pitivi - back then, it was clearly inferior to kdenlive (which I still use in version 0.9.x, because the "refactoring" has not yet resulted in a version stable and feature-complete enough for me).

Looks like I should have another look at Pitivi now.

@Marc: "Natron 2" clearly seems like a tool for a different use case - compositing computer generated visual effects, rather than just grading and editing existing clips into a final video.

I will also look at "ShotCut" again, which conceptually looked good to me, but last time I tried it was missing some essential color grading filters I need.
