    Over one year after the DirectFB project site disappeared and the code just appearing on GitHub, they have a project site restored but the development still appears rather dormant...

      Is DirectFB relevant? It shouldn't.

      What I would like:
      - Please kill the classic framebuffer.
      - Please potentiate KMS.
      - Please resucitate libtsm
      - Please make concepts both in FbTerm (dead) and KMSCON (dead) plus the concepts behind notty a reality and standarize all of it in most Open Source *NIX (Linux, BSDs, MINIX, etc).

      Video Terminals are dead, please evolve...

        Imho, yes. DirectFB is relevant. Not because it offers terminal features, but because it offers direct access to the frame buffer. There are tricks that can be involved into low-latency display that only DirectFB made possible. May it live long and prosper.
