    Both the PC at home and the server at work function(had to change the wording) normally on Linux 4.8.4.
    I get that error too on all the kernels I've tried after installing 4.9rc1 and it still boots.
    I'm on a dell inspiron, gtx960m, nvidia 370.28, KDE Neon 5.8.2, kernel 4.9rc1 disconnected my wifi but I can tether it to my phone. Well I uninstalled it and tried 4.84.
