    Running a Linux guest will be a lot more pleasant experience, for a start. I regularly have to run Linux guests ( yes, on a Linux host ), and having 3D acceleration of some sort will mean that gnome / enlightenment / whatever will be a lot smoother. Same goes for GUI apps inside.

    As for running Windows apps with 3D acceleration - there is always wine. Or rebooting. I don't imagine 3D acceleration for Windows is a particularly high priority for the people working in this space, but I might be wrong.
