One can deduce a lot from those instruction sets what Zen will have in store for catching up to Intel.

I'd also like to remind people that Cannon Lake has been delayed to 2017 and Intel will release a Devils Canyon style rehash in 2016 called Kaby Lake. So plenty of time for AMD to get Zen out. I'm guessing it will actually compete with Skylake-E on the server front on release.

To those who think that Zen is just around the corner, please listen to the official on-the-record words of Mark Papermaster -- who took over Zen after Jim Keller decided it would be fun to quit AMD again:
"Jim?s departure is not expected to impact our public product or technology roadmaps, and we remain on track for ?Zen? sampling in 2016 with first full year of revenue in 2017."
Go read it yourself: http://hexus.net/tech/news/cpu/86585...er-leaves-amd/
I don't really care what some third-tier executive at GloFo, which is a company that has literally never produced a single AMD product on-time in its entire history, has to say. In an absolute pie-in-the-sky best-case scenario Zen is a late 2016 launch and when it comes to parts that consumers will buy, it's almost certainly a 2017
