Mmm, OK, I tried this new kernel on two different AMD systems, one with a Kaveri, one with a Temash. Ran "make oldconfig" using my perfectly working config file from my 4.1.6 kernel, basically accepted the default configuration for new options and got a kernel panic with trouble finding CPU node on both systems.
I guess this one will require some further fiddling with kernel options...

Installed the freshly compiled 4.2 from Ubuntu's kernel mainline repo on Mint 17.2 on a vanilla Intel Haswell system (no proprietary drivers) and no issues, as expected.

          Thanks Linus & Co.

It appears that it will be merged after all. https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...sh_workqueue-/
