Doesn't look like that - I have AMD cpu laptop with Radeon graphics and with 3.15 kernel I've got about +30-45 minutes on battery, so most likely they further improve power management

For me, the most important feature that the 3.15 kernel added, was added in rc8: A fix for the ALC1150 on-board audio on Z97/H97 chipsets.
