Phoronix: Marek Continues Improving Radeon Performance

There's been another improvement to Mesa with the Radeon Gallium3D R600 driver by Marek Ol??k that can improve the OpenGL performance in certain situations for this open-source AMD Linux driver while also conserving memory usage...

Marek Ol??k, the student developer from Europe
Do you also write "Keith Packard, the developer from North America"? Country/City would probably be a bit more suitable, Europe is a fairly large continent.

Well, Marek Olš?k's obviously only the only student in Europe who writes software... whereas, there are multiple professional software developers in N.A.

      /sarcasm

On-Topic: Do we have any idea of the average amount of memory savings that this might bring about?

Why sarcasm? Isn't unpaid work by student who have other things to do (like, eee graduating ??), a subject to prise?
When big companies have hard time scrambling dev teams for the same work? (Ok Intel is fine, nad AMD did fine recently, but both have "small" teams compared to Win teams)

Sorry, my English fails here. Could you elaborate?

Marek is student. He do it on his own time and nobody pays him for his work.

Fine reason for adding "who is student"...
