Someone should buy Linus a Hakko or Metcal soldering station (yes, I do read the release announcements).

What? No mention of the Linus guitar pedal raffle?

Well I have a soldering iron myself and already build a fuzz pedal. It still needs some rework because it is super noisy and there are other projects like a volume pedal that needs some rework.
If you have a slight clue on electronics you will find it hilarious how most pedals cost more than 30 €, considering all just have a minimal set of components and super simplistic circuit layout.

Although I don't see were Linus gets the free time for this, I'm not involved in kernel development and hardly have time for such projects.

Will 6.13 fix the page flip timeout stuff that makes kwin crash randomly when I try to move a window? Or is that a hopefully 6.14 fix?

Having done software development for most of my life (although initially trained more on the hardware side, and I do have that aforementioned Metcal soldering station), there is a certain satisfaction of physically building and completing something and along the way using a completely different part of your brain. It can relax you, clearing your mind, and letting you go back to your main activities refreshed and ready. Think of it as a short vacation.

Of course, that's probably why any hobbyist has it's hobby. Also I didn't notice that Linus just builds prebuild kits which is easily done in one or 2 hours. I like the tinkering so I get a schematic of something I like and start altering it to create new sounds. Much more time consuming but also more fun.
