    So this is a kind of coreboot playload? Or even a coreboot replacement? Not sure how it fits in.

      From what I can tell it is something similar to coreboot but specific to virtual machines, so it's more like a replacement for the TianoCore/EDK2 firmware that QEMU uses to boot UEFI stuff for example.
