    I agree.

    I used to consider SVT-AV1 the best encoder available to the general public though I now prefer AOMENC for software encoding.

    However, for the cast majority of use cases, hardware encoding is where it's at. especially with the fixed function low power settings, a cheap laptop can encode video faster than a high end TR using software encoding, with much less power, heat and noise and instead of having to build a whole new machine, you can just buy a cheap $100 Arc video card, pop it into your existing computer and you are good to go.

    As far as quality, unless you pixel peep you will not notice the difference and if you use the detail enhance filter, you can get some really nice looking encodes.
