Phoronix: "Indirector" Attack Disclosed For Intel Alder Lake & Raptor Lake CPUs

UC San Diego researchers have gone public with Indirector, high-precision branch target injection attacks on the indirect branch predictor. This UCSD security researchers found Indirector impacting recent Intel Alder Lake and Raptor Lake processors. Intel believes though that no further mitigations are required...

Nope, not the first time. The researchers must demonstrate the existing mitigations are not enough to deserve it.

I just love Intel's stability. Each year - a new vulnerability.

On a sidenote, UCSD sounds like some crypto currency stuff lol.

Intel doesn't want to infringe on the Linux communities' religious beliefs.

How many pages of "Intel sucks, AMD is great" posts will this article generate?

              I set the over/under at 8.

It is interesting to note that yours is the first one. That's interesting also because it denotes your troll attitude.

It seems that the majority of the world's population are Linux believers. Especially where performance counts. Poor winboys can only pray, but nobody will listen.

So you polled 8 billion people and they all responded that they were "Linux believers"?

Must have been a hell of an undertaking.

If the world is full of Linux believers then why does Linux account for less than 2 percent of all users in every Steam survey ever done?

Why did MS make 288 billion dollars in 2023 while total Linux revenue, from donations and sales, accounted for a fraction of that?

Finally, which distro would you be comfortable paying $150 per install?
