Phoronix: Linux 6.1-rc2 Released: It's "Unusually Large"

Linus Torvalds just released the Linux 6.1-rc2 kernel, which he characterized as "unusually large" in what started off as a quiet week...

      Linus Torvalds also said:

But if you ignore that media tree portion, things look pretty normal for an rc2.

This seems like the equivalent of having an article about the neighborhood cat stuck up a tree on a slow news Sunday...

First the Intel GPU mismerge in 5.19.12 and now the media subsystem stuff getting missed. Is Linus getting old?

I can only imagine how hard it is to manage a project as large and complex as the Linux kernel with so many moving parts and contributors.
Surely the maintaners of the various subsystems are relieving him from big chores, but still, the man is doing a great job!

If you look at his email, it was the maintainer's fault.
