      Hmm... I get that dbus-daemon is probably rather old and musty code, but did they really need to write a new one rather that make targeted improvements and optimizations in the original? Just curious.

      And I did see the claimed benefits of making dbus-broker Linux-specific, although it's not as if plenty of other projects don't have Linux-specific enhancements without being Linux-only.

      It's not that I think there should be only one dbus-daemon, but rather that some of the enhancements they list seem like they should be possible to make in the original, and that not doing so basically leaves anyone still using the original with all of those disadvantages. Of course, there are benefits to having more than one implementation.

        It does appear in the Fedora 30 changeset page of their wiki, so I'd assume it did in fact make it.
