    It sounds like on these devices you are limited by the LAN speed of probably 1 Gbit/s, while getting 50% core usage.

    So anyone who wants to run a SMB server on a 2.5 Gbit/s or 10 Gbit/s network would then need to use more than one core in so far as supported/possible, or be limited by core usage, even for a single file request.
