We're already two generation later (Reiser4, and Reiser5), than ReiserFS and most of the work isn't performed by Hans anymore.
So? We're several generations of Opel later and work isn't performed by Adam Opel anymore, but I don't see them changing their name either. Or to stay in the IT world: where exactly are Hewlett and Packard in HP? And I can name plenty more examples.

That's exactly what people are still saying to Linus to this day, yet it doesn't stop him.

You post that same unfunny joke in every ReiserFS thread. Grow up already.

Which Linus? Tech Tips Sebastian, or my neighbor? I hope you do not compare this obsolete Reiser5 junk with the Linux kernel, ..? It is not like the Linux ecosystem is short in filesystems anyway ;-)

You know what, you're right. Murder isn't funny business.

            But some points:
            1. Linux has more than enough filesystems. plenty of mature, stable, performant supported ones like EXT4 and XFS, of which no one has any issues. It has less popular, with more features like lustrefs, btrfs, and out of tree, but still widely popular, zfs. The LAST thing linux needs right now is a new filesystem. People want code to be reviewed on merit. Reiser 4+ has no merit.
            2. Hans Rieser murdered his wife. Sure he doesn't work on it, but still named after him. It could be changed at any time. It elicits strong feelings from the "murder is bad camp"

Just stop posting articles about it.

Maybe the problem with articles about ReiserFS is not the topic at hand (ReiserFS) but the people with "Reiser" stuck in their mind.

Maybe those people should stop reading these articles and refrain from posting in the forums about what's in their mind.

Most people don't know that their filesystem is named NTFS. NTFS can be safely renamed to MurderFS with no outcry. They won't even know what hit them.
