I agree with you but i guarantee you that in the windows version your favorite NSA agent will have fun seeing people react to your screen going private when watching redtube

Why is one company part of GNOME, but not the other. Your comment should either have been All "RH, Canonical" (and possibly GNOME if there are some independent Gnome developer involved). Or it should have been "All Kernel & GNOME" but that adds nothing new from what was in the original story. Lets give credit where it is appropriate.

Rather uninteresting. I would be much more interested in open source firmware, UEFI, and fingerprint sensor.

This kind of support is why I recommend Thinkpads to people looking for a well supported Linux machine. And of course are against the idea of buying a "rebranded Clevo", despite those having a Linux support guarantee behind them.

Lenovo is a Chinese company, so if you are not doing anything worth stealing, they will not bother with you...

Err, the most common reason why this feature gets attention is for example, because of business customers wanting it so they can work on their company stuff while being in a flight or coffee shop. It is a nice to have feature and works pretty well for avoiding casual eyes from prying on information they don't need to see.

I love the part where the shapely young lady gets ROASTED for looking at that guy's default Lenovo wallpaper.

Are you serious? I mean, didn't you realize I was joking?

I'd be surprised if Lenovo was the first to go down this path. They were caught doing some extremely shady things with bootloader exploits a few years back, and never really apologized.
