I'd be interested to hear how systemd-cryptenroll compares to the latchset project (clevis+tpm2 & clevis+tang) https://github.com/latchset/clevis

Am I being naive thinking that systemd just reinvented a wheel?

I'm not familiar with latchset, but maybe systemd did reinvent a wheel, but then it's a tightly integrated wheel. Which makes all the difference.

Is systemd-oomd available with this version?

System extension images is a great addition, I played around with the concept using distri and I can say that having something like this included in systemd is the only way to properly do it (so you don't have to use your own init to mount everything and then call systemd). This can be really good if properly used for package management: fast reliable and secure

Edit: Ok, looks like this in systemd is a quite limited version of what I was thinking about

less 568 or newer is now required for the auto-paging logic of the
various tools. Hyperlink ANSI sequences in terminal output are now
used even if a pager is used, and older versions of less are not able
to display these sequences correctly. SYSTEMD_URLIFY=0 may be used to
              disable this output again.
The latest released stable version of less is 563 .
less 580 is in beta and breaks colored output[1] [2]
Archlinux has added 2 patches[3] to disable that option .

Maybe systemd devs should not introduce things that rely on beta versions.

You had me at Battlestar Galactica !
