    The Linux 5.12 merge window was off to a rough start due to winter storms preventing Linus Torvalds from merging changes for nearly one week, but in any case he appears to have caught up and the Linux 5.12-rc1 kernel is expected later today to end out the merge window. Here is a look at the many exciting changes coming for Linux 5.12.

    Using clang on x86-64 will likely corrupt your btrfs, at least it did for me and I had to peel my precious Sgi Impact driver sources out of a VM image .-/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnB3_GFLyN8

      Huh. So BTRFS too. I wonder what it is about 5.12 that's making drives go FUBAR?

                It's a lil weird that Linux version "512" equals to default disk block size (512 bytes) => happens to have mysterious disk issues.

                    This is going to be the coolest version of Linux:

                    5.12 = 2^9 / 10^2

                    ...until 10.24, which has an even nicer symmetry.
