With Intel's major faux pas announcement yesterday that their new nodes are still not ready and that they will seek to use 3rd party fabs en masse, it makes me wonder how this will impact non x86 market share. Most of the 7nm fabs are tied up with contracts to fulfill for AMD, IBM, and the various ARM players. Intel soliciting 3rd party 7nm node production at such a late stage in the game is a major blunder.

It will be interesting how IBM will position the POWER10/Linux stack commercially as Intel's total fall from grace gets more and more extensive. Analysts think it is a 1 to 1 to EPYC, but there are still a lot of platform managers who are leery of AMD. 2021 is going to be a very interesting year for non x86-64.
