I highly doubt the kernel runtime decompression takes 8 seconds, let alone 27 seconds.
A kernel image is usually ~ 5M compressed. There is no way decompression takes 8 seconds for 5M worth of data.

Could also be that Facebook is running their entire environment as an initrd, in which case the numbers are plausible.
