Phoronix: Many MediaTek Wireless Driver Improvements On Deck For Linux 5.8

There is a lot of wireless (and wired) networking activity each kernel cycle but for the upcoming Linux 5.8 merge window it looks like there will be particularly a lot for MediaTek drivers...

Maybe my 5G wireless adapter that uses MT7612U (If I remember) will work right about 5 years later?
    Mediatek sucks about linux drivers..

I have MT wireless adapter that I couldn't make it to work on Linux. Maybe I will give it a try when Linux 5.8 is stable enough.

Rockchip products (those RK**** ARM chips) are from the People's Republic of China. Old fabs, but because of their apparent OSS support their wares are quite widely used and often the only option for OSS projects.

Mediatek are from Taiwan, but have historically been hostile towards Open Source. There's a simple solution to this problem. Either start churning out generic RK-like chips with OSS support that people can use, or start open-sourcing your fancy customs ones.

It just would be nice to have some free software supported hardware from a free country.
