Phoronix: GNU Linux-libre 5.4-gnu Released As The New Deblobbed Kernel

Just hours after Linus Torvalds released Linux 5.4, the GNU folks maintaining "GNU Linux-libre" released their v5.4 kernel that continues "deblobbing" the kernel for ensuring no proprietary firmware/microcode can be loaded by the drivers nor support for loading closed-source kernel modules...

Yay, now none of those de-blobbed drivers work. Great work folks

Mocking doesn't leave anyone wiser. Some people want assurance that their kernel won't be loading unknown and non-free bits. So it stands to reason that those people would use this kernel to be protected from blobs. It is actually a matter of convenience for them.
No one in that group cares if someone feels smarter by "virtue" of having working non-free functionality.

Works fine on my year old i7. What is it you are afraid of? The kernel is quite capable without any extras. Runs snappier to be honest.

This is a pointless project as it is not fixing the issue, it's just removing functionality. Hence the mocking.

#derpy-derp-derp. You're just scared your system will blow up in your face if you ever run it without Big-tech's secret sauce.

This is just plain BS. Big fat BS. Aside from removed firmware this deblobbed kernel is absolutely the same.

                    Benchmarks results or GTFO.
