Phoronix: Benchmarks Of The Various Kernel Flavors Of Clear Linux

Last month Clear Linux rolled out new kernel options as bundles for those wanting to run a mainline/vanilla kernel build on this Intel open-source distribution without their extra patches applied as well as other options. Here are some benchmarks of those different kernel flavors available to Clear Linux users...

Phoronix, Linux Hardware Reviews, Linux hardware benchmarks, Linux server benchmarks, Linux benchmarking, Desktop Linux, Linux performance, Open Source graphics, Linux How To, Ubuntu benchmarks, Ubuntu hardware, Phoronix Test Suite

Some of those have some odd flag combinations being passed.

Redis, the SVT-* tests, and Stress-NG all pass both -O2 and -O3 while the MLK-DNN tests pass mtune twice with "-mtune=skylake -std=c++11 -march=native -mtune=native".

Upgraded yesterday to 5.1.7, froze my machine after closing X11 session.
      Ton of fun.

Which one of the kernel flavours did you upgrade to 5.1.7? I am using 5.2.0-0.rc3.git1.2.fc31.x86_64 and have no issues, so maybe it was a patch on your kernel?
