The AMD wip kernel is enough new unless you need some new drivers or bug fixes. I have used the AMD wip kernel many years. I did use the mainline kernel a couple of weeks recently because it did have the driver for my Astrometa dvb-t2 stick and nvme driver patches to remove error messages. The ADM wip kernel has many important fixes like in the memory management and the number of important patches outweighs mainline kernel changes. Your computer will work with old 4.19 kernels so other changes are not that important.
