    Code:
    intel_pstate powersave
This doesn't seem right for desktop Intel chips. It should be set to
    Code:
    intel_pstate performance

That's fucking terrible, but I'm not surprised, linux has been getting slower and slower while the kernel gets more and more bloated.

        Latest stable kernel is this:

        > cat /proc/sys/kernel/osrelease
        4.19.2

P-State powersave has always been the default with most distro kernels.

True, kernel 4.20 is fuck slow, but at least - thanks to the CoC - no developer's feeling has been harmed during release🙏

Ahah! Linus must be fucken furious now! I wonder where he's going to vent all his rage

Or at least for some gaming really and of course if average gaming Joe could even notice it... i can't notice difference too

Probably because i was playing a lot on PS4, where some games are even capped at 30 fps... who knows, maybe that is the reason
Thanks for this! I've been having this discussion at work and trying to decide on a 4k or a 1440p monitor to go with my RTX 2080. I was leaning 1440p but 4k is the same price or cheaper.

I thought the newest fixes were supposed to get some of the performance back... As far as the ext4 issues, with all the updates/fixes being pushed for ext4 maybe they're just working the kinks out in the first rc release.

I'm personally running the https://xanmod.org/ 4.19.2 kernel. It did scare me with requiring an fsck on my / partition at boot up the first time too. Been running great since.

You found bugs in AMD's development branch? Unbelievable!
