Those are old versions, current latest (beta?) version from mozilla does not support alsa anymore. Just wait for the Firefox update then you will see. Here is a bug report of it:

These are not old versions at all, 45 ESR is still default ESR channel even on Windows if you want.. i think maybe for day or two yet i think then it will switch to 52 ESR, these are not old versions just ESR and supported versions.

It would be all broken or all new if you want, up to 57 there are various breakages all around planned

Then you end up using 3 years old buggy software, cannot not use packages from testing, unstable and experimental and Oibaf and Padoka ppas. Those will break your Debian "stable".

Testing, Experimental, Oibaf, Padoka... can't break anything as users shouldn't use these at all when on Stable Oibaf and Padoka PPAs no one should mention even to be used on any Debian since these are for Ubuntu, not for Debian... i mean that is obvious, just not for trolls like you

Happy development there, bookmark bugzillas and read them daily. More buggy software like in upstream/testing/sid is more fun also have better investments, so go there and make developers happy

No you don't need to re-install anything. Debian is made to be upgraded. Install what you get , run a upgrade when you feel for it, boom you are on the latest versions of everything.
