Not really what I meant. I meant Arch has AMDGPU-PRO on AUR and is tested. Support is there, that's what I meant.

So the question is whether they should create a new package they cannot test and have absolutely no way of knowing whether it works at event he most basic level. In arch, that might be plausible. Arch users are expected to be more advanced and be able to fix problems when they occur. But openSUSE is not Arch, it targets a different group of users with different needs. openSUSE is not in the habit of providing software for which they haven't the slightest clue whether it works or not.

TheBlackCat To me, one of the beauties of Linux is: everybody can help. He could, for instance, re-build the drivers and mark them as Experimental. The Wiki page would point to the RPM's and also to a bug reporting thread somewhere. The page would say something to the lines of:
"WARNING: This driver is experimental and most likely not in a usable state yet. You should only try it if you want to make support available for everybody by reporting bugs to the developer."
And then, once the overall building scripts are in a good shape, he can mark them as "Testing" or even "Stable".
If the packager would agree to something like that, than I would be more than happy to install openSUSE on a spair HD and test the driver and report bugs. I'm sure there are a lot of people willing to help openSUSE in this regard.
