    That's not true. Security teams of RHEL, Canonical and Debian are all independent, but they are all in the same disclosure lists where they share fixes and coordinate releases.

    I don't claim Ubuntu releases fixes faster (I haven't checked), but the claim that they just leech on Debian is simply not true and doesn't reflect workflow of these security teams.

      For patches, yes. They compile the sources from upstream RHEL.

        Sure, it's way easier and cheaper to use open source for your commercial ventures and give absolutely nothing back to it! Maybe everyone should just use open source and never give back to it... I mean its free right? And then we can all wonder what happens when open source goes away.
