Phoronix: openSUSE Leap 42.2 Beta 2 Switches To KDE Plasma 5.8 Beta

Well, Plasma 5.8 is LTS after all, so using it is only logical.

I see they are using a 4.4.21 kernel.
      Will it support an rx480?
MESA seems to be 11.2 ... I looked there:

Nothing stopping you changing the kernel, currently at 4.7 in the stable standard repo:

        http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...able/standard/

And as for mesa you can get the latest here:

        http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...USE_Leap_42.1/

Currently this is 42.1 but there will be a repo for 42.2 around release time I should imagine.

Well, AFAIR it was the other way around: this release is LTS because openSUSE needed it.

I've just about had it with open suse. I'm going to switch back to Ubuntu or Debian.

What exactly would you like openSUSE to change, and where exactly have you asked for it?
