For some extra benchmarks to toss out there tonight are some tests of Fedora 23 and Fedora 24 Alpha (while acknowledging it's still early in development and debug mode) compared to Debian testing, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS in its current development form, Intel Clear Linux, and CentOS 7.

Why is Ubuntu (and two others) so slow with C-Ray?

Debian testing is lighter os than ubuntu, lighter means debian takes less cpu time when it runs. So everything works faster in Debian testing. Get yours from here:

What a fundamentally flawed logic, especially given that Debian Testing is slower in some tests here.

unity does not run in low end hardware.

I've ran Unity without too much problem on a 512MB Dell laptop with a single-core 1.6GHz Celeron CPU, 5200 RPM EIDE HDD, and Intel 915GM graphics, which imo is pretty low-end. I'm pretty sure a RPi2 has better performance than that (but someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

Since you are doing game tests in Ubuntu via Unity, I'm curious if there are any performance boosts if you use the SteamOS login in Xenial from https://launchpad.net/~mdeslaur/+archive/ubuntu/steamos

That is nothing, I have run Xfce in PIII 800Mhz 500MB ram desktop pc and 10 inch tabletpc with same specs. Xfce is also popular in rasperry like boards.

2 Viper_Scull> Probably getting lazier and lazier ;-). But Win I already tried, buyed with a laptop, XP. I tried to use them for a while, but it was very upleasant. Return to it is very unlikely. An, of course, before Slackware i tried Win 3.11, but it was a bad joke, not OS.
