        I might be wrong, but I think that Debian does not upgrade their packages on stable updates. These 8.x releases are just bunches of security updates and fixes.

          I had a lot of problems using stable when it was Wheezy but this time around I've have no problems at all using Jessie. Famous last words

            That's Debian's definition of "Stable": Package versions do not change after release.

            Well... that's your fault, then.

            Stable has almost 400 bugs that never gets fixed while testing is updated in every week
            Anyone who wants/needs the latest packages should not use Debian Stable.

              One fix is very important for all users with root on MD raid other than raid0. Namely, a single disk crash no longer results in an unbootable system.
