Phoronix: Fedora 23 Met By Another "No-Go" Today

While Fedora 23 had been running on-time this development cycle while still being a feature-packed release, it's hit some snags at the last milestone. Last week a one-week delay of Fedora 23 was announced for bug-fixing, and now at today's go/no-go meeting, another no-go came up...

I'm glad they're doing this. The Canonicle team should have done this with the 'buntu releases, the 15.10 release was a bug filled mess. I'm currently waiting for Fedora 23 to drop so I can ditch UbuntuGnome.

Humorous it may be, and while not exactly roflmao, I am having a good chuckle. I also am in the (acquired) habit of reading release notes assiduously before pulling the final trigger on "You have marked partitions /sdev/sdb3 and /dev/sdb4 to be reformatted. All data will be lost! Are you really sure you want to go through with this???"

I prefer my surprises to be pleasant. Thanks, release team!

Ok, maybe someone can explain this to me ... the referenced defect is that the F22 changelog is included in the release, but I could not figure out if that means "only the F22 changelog, and not the one for F23" or just "both are there" ... because in the 2nd case I am slightly stumped that this would count as blocking.

The fedora-release-notes package in F23 is still for F22: fedora-release-notes-22.01-1.fc22.noarch
"This document provides the release notes for Fedora 22..." it is included in all live images except, I think,
Workstation (because it's part of the @standard group, which is in fedora-live-base.ks).

So the KDE, Xfce etc etc lives have a menu entry which shows you the Fedora 22 release notes.

This is a clear violation of "The final branded release notes must be present on release-blocking images
and the appropriately versioned generic release notes must be available in the release repository.",
which somehow no-one thought to check until now. Le sigh.

We have an update: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/upda...015-e6b55c54f7 it just never got pulled into any composes.

For the record, this was discussed at 2015-10-29 Go/No-Go meeting, acting as a blocker review meeting: https://meetbot-raw.fedoraproject.or...-29-16.00.html . The decision to accept it as a blocker was generally affirmed.
That was all from the bugzilla link. Hopefully that shines some light on it. I bolded some text for emphasis.
