At first, I wanted to write a long essay here, but decided against it, as it would only add fuel to the fire.

At first, I wanted to write a long essay here, but decided against it, as it would only add fuel to the fire.
Simply speaking:
- I'm biased and I don't really like package management in Debian/*buntu.
- IMHO you should give a thought to the reasons why this "unofficial, unsupported helper utility" won't allow you to compile and build your packages as root.
- Packages are signed for reason. If package manager blocks package signed with unrecognized key, don't blame package manager ?– it's doing its job.
That said, I hope you are a happy *buntu user. It's a good piece of software, but I just don't like it.
