I don't know how they are going to accomplish this. Sounds pretty difficult.
Also, I don't see what good it would be. Doesn't make much sense.
Maybe for the enterprise, but even there...

I don't understand why we have to re-make the f-ing wheel here. Perhaps a gui frontend (system-auth-config ? Doesn't that exist?).

The real question is why those apps (which is unclear in the text what they are referring to) don't use pam already.
